I’ve been working to new interviews in these last days, about queerness, blackness and their many intersections, with different view points and oppossite results. Hopefully these pieces will be published on advocate.com and on the blog I will just put the links. But these are my reflections about them, and in a sense they’re also a little preview.
As always, when there’s something to fight for, and in this case is for black rights, in the specific queer black rights, there’s the contrast between “activists”, those who are involved in organizations and demonstrate, and those who think movements are disconnected from reality outside their “own territory”, which is that of demonstrations in big cities, and that we would have to challenge preconceptions and ignorance going back to our small communities, our families (or to church).
